Dogtail Cactus Succulent Bowl | Potted Succulent Garden
(Note: The first photographs are newer by about four months.)
I water these plants a little (very damp) every 6-7 days. This collection contains a dancing bones cactus (fast grower), a haworthia turgida, mesembryanthemum lehmanii (branches heavily and becomes long), and rhipsalis teres.
Though I am transitioning to organic methods, I have used a synthetic pesticide in the soil (absorbed by the whole plant) that is said to last a year but is not safe for bees (or people or animals) so please take one of the following precautions if your plant flowers: 1) change the soil, 2) bring the planter indoors before and while the plant blooms, 3) cut the flower buds off if there is a chance that a bee will come in contact with them, 4) keep the planter indoors through the end of September, 2018. Thank you!
