Succulent Plant, 'Medicinal' Aloe (These are for Ornamental Use)
Because I have used a slow-releasing synthetic and systemic pesticide on all of my plants that's not safe for humans or many insects, I wouldn't consider this plant medicinal (as in used topically for sunburns) for at least six months from December 1, 2017.
My aloes are usually in better shape than what you're likely to find at brick and mortar stores. There, leaves tend to get bent and broken.
